Quality Care Allied Health is dedicated to ensuring individuals personal and sensitive information is managed and stored safely in relation to relevant legislation. This statement outlines what you can expect of Quality Care Allied Health when personal information is collected, held and used.
Quality Care Allied Health is comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act), the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 which amends the Privacy Act and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD) (IP Act) in handling personal information collected in regard to consumers/beneficiaries, business partners, donors, members of the public and people associated with Quality Care Allied Health (including staff, volunteers, members, delegates, applicants for volunteer work and prospective staff).
Quality Care Allied Health has a Privacy and Confidentiality Policy which outlines further details on how Quality Care Allied Health will take to protect individual’s privacy. The primary purpose for Quality Care Allied Health collecting personal information from individuals is to provide appropriate disability and aged care services and programs to people in planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating our services.
Quality Care Allied Health will collect personal information about a staff, client, donor, contractor, volunteer or member. Quality Care Allied Health usually collects personal information directly from individuals. However, Quality Care Allied Health sometimes collect personal information from a third party such as a family member, a carer, a general practitioner or authorised representative only if individuals have consented to such collection.
Quality Care Allied Health will only collect personal information for one or more of following functions or activities:
- Provide supports and services;
- Provide educational information and resources;
- Report to government or other funding bodies as to how the funding is used;
- Process donations or purchase and provide receipts;
- Communicate with individuals about how a person’s donation is used or about Quality Care Allied Health’s services which we believe may be of interest to individuals;

Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties without the individual’s consent to, expect where permitted or required under the Privacy Act/IP Act by law or another relevant Act.
Quality Care Allied Health actively takes procedures to protect all personal, sensitive and health information and government related identifiers held by the organisation against misuse, interference, loss, un-authorised access, modification and disclosure.
Individuals can access the personal information that Quality Care Allied Health holds about them, and can ask Quality Care Allied Health to correct the personal information that is held.
